Today we want to review the states of the march. We know that there are people who start in this world and at the beginning it is a wave of concepts, so we wanted to make it very visual.
Because they are important? Knowing the state of your little one's gait is the first step in choosing the right shoes.
THE Crawl. Your little one begins to move on the floor. It goes from one side to the other independently. Your little one is a born explorer and you realize that you have to adapt the house, protect the sockets and remove the toilet brush. APPROXIMATE age to start crawling, according to Pikler-Loczy, from 8 to 16 months.
FIRST STEPS. One day it seems that your baby is a bear cub trying to stand up on an ice lake and takes his first steps alone. At first, they stumble, stumble, fall… they try to keep their balance and have an “old west cowboy” gait. This stage lasts about 6 months, but it depends on the ossification of the bones, the dexterity acquired by the little one and the opportunities we give them to move and explore.
DEBUT MARCH. This stage begins around 6 months after the little one takes the first steps until the age of 3-4 years. Your little one moves with greater confidence and ease, he begins to do "tricks": he runs, climbs, climbs stairs, jumps... He is still a bit clumsy and you know that you have to be very close because he can stumble.
STABLE RUN. From 3/4 years onwards. Your little one begins to walk almost like an adult, his legs are straight, his feet have lost all the baby grease 😔. This is when you can relax, but not much because if he starts running there will be no way to catch up with him 🤣.
Remember that these are approximate times. Earlier is not better. Each little one has their rhythm in development and always, always you have to follow the child. If you have doubts about its development, go to the specialist.
And now, tell me, in what state of the march is your little one? 🤓
