Know the states of the march

Today we want to review the stages of the march. We know that there are people who are starting out in this world and at first it is a wave of concepts, so we wanted to make it very visual.

Why are they important? Knowing your child's walking condition is the first step in choosing the right shoes.

CRAWLING. Your little one starts to move around on the floor. He goes from one place to another independently. Your little one is a born explorer and you realise that you have to adapt the house, protect the sockets and remove the toilet brush. APPROXIMATE age to start crawling, according to Pikler-Loczy, is 8 to 16 months.

FIRST STEPS. One day, your baby seems like a bear cub trying to stand up on a lake of ice and takes his first steps alone. At first, they stumble, trip, fall... they try to keep their balance and walk like a "cowboy from the old west." This stage lasts about 6 months, but it depends on the ossification of the bones, the skill acquired by the little one and the opportunities we give them to move and explore. BEGINNER WALKING. This stage begins around 6 months after the child takes his or her first steps until he or she is 3-4 years old. Your child moves with greater confidence and ease, and begins to do “tricks”: run, climb, go up stairs, jump… He or she is still a bit clumsy and you know that you have to be very close because he or she might stumble. STABLE GAIT. From 3/4 years onwards. Your little one starts to walk almost like an adult, his legs are straight, his feet have lost all the baby fat 😔. This is when you can relax, but not much because if he starts running there will be no way to catch him 🤣. Check out the appropriate footwear for this stage of walking here .

Remember that these are approximate times. Earlier is not better. Every child has his or her own pace of development and you should always, always follow the child. If you have any doubts about his or her development, consult a specialist.

And now, tell me, what stage of the march is your little one in? 🤓
