About XERO

Xero Shoes was founded in 2009 by Steven Sashen and Lena Phoenix, who, after discovering the benefits of walking barefoot or in minimalist footwear, decided to create a line of shoes that would allow people to experience those advantages with a bit more protection for their feet. They were largely inspired by Christopher McDougall's book Born to Run, which explores the culture of the Tarahumara tribes in Mexico, known for their long-distance barefoot running abilities.

The company has a strong focus on reducing environmental impact, making products that are durable and using more eco-friendly materials whenever possible.
